Shopping for a trench coat takes some time and patience.  The best time is to shop during the Spring clothing season when the most selection can be found.  If you are willing to wait until the end of the season you will start to see some heavy discounts .  Even half way through the season, I started seeing some great discounts.  If you want a trench coat now, be sure to check out these excellent stores.

Coach:  This famous designer of handbags and leather goods makes some excellent quality trench coats.  Many of their latest trench coats come in Coach’s newest signature patterns.  The coats have excellent quality linings and great construction, similar to their excellent bags and accessories.  Prices are a bit higher, averaging $600, but the quality is well worth the price.

Burberry:  This traditional store is a flagship of the trench coat and has a fantastic assortment of cuts and colours.  Worn by many famous movie stars, Burberry trench coats are durable and long lasting.  Each detail of the coat is beautifully constructed and creates a fantastic silhouette for everyone who wears one.  Burberry trenches are a bit more expensive than other coats and start from approx. $600 to more than $1000.  However the price you pay will be worth it.  These coats are timeless and will last for a long time.

Overstock.com:  This site has tons of trench coats in different styles, colors and sizes.  It is an outlet so you will see a lot of different brands come through.  Snatch up the item quickly if you are interested because the items cycle through pretty fast.  Prices range from less than $50 to over $100.

Nordstrom:  This department store, famous for its fantastic customer service and great quality brands carries many different stylish trench coats.  If you are looking for a coat that is more trendy and fitted, try this famous department store.  If you don’t have one near you, check their online store where you will find almost all of the same great selections.  In general, their trench coats come in a lot more colors and styles.

Brooks Brothers:  Known for their classic suits, this store carries a number of conservative and classic trench coats.   Styles are perfect for wearing to the office and for wearing over suits.  Prices are in the mid to high-end range and go from $200 to $700. There are great trench coats for men and women.  Just like their suits, a Brooks Brothers trench coat makes a definitive statement.

Spiegel:  This store sells most of their items through their famous catalog and through their website.  It carries some excellent trench coats for very reasonable prices.  Almost all of the prices are around $100.  The fashionable coats are made of good material.  Here, you will find mostly women’s trench coats.

Other department stores:  Other department stores like Macy’s, Sears, Saks and Bloomingdale’s:  Most department stores will have a coat area that you can shop in both online and offline.  Look in that area if you are looking for a trench coat.  

Other boutiques:  Almost every designer will make a few trench coats to display each Spring season.  If you are looking for a trench, time it right and check out what has come out for that season.
